ROSSLYN, Va.—The
National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI C136.31-2018
American National Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment—Luminaire
Vibration. Developed by the ANSI Committee for Roadway and Area Lighting, this
Standard describes the minimum vibration capability and vibration test methods
for roadway and area luminaires.
“This revision includes
clarification and guidance on the requirements for test setup, value
determination and measurement, operation, and evaluation. Furthermore, the vibration
test levels were expanded to include common materials found in newer lighting technologies,”
said Luke Siefker, Standard Technical Coordinator, Acuity Brands.
ANSI
C136.31-2018 is available in hard copy or as an
electronic download for $45 on the NEMA website.
The ANSI Accredited
Standards Committee (ASC) C136 for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment is
currently seeking interested members, particularly in the underrepresented
categories of End User and General Interest.
