Ballasts and drivers are devices, other than the
lamps themselves, that convert raw power into a form suitable for a
light source.
Devices include electronic and electromagnetic
ballasts in interior and exterior fluorescent, high-intensity discharge
(HID), and low-pressure sodium (LPS) lighting systems.
Products
are essential in transformers and other conversion devices employed in
the operation of low-voltage lighting systems, light-emitting diodes
(LED), and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) drive circuits and power
supplies for electrodeless lamps.
