The NEMA Digital Technologies Council was established to expand and coordinate the Association’s work on digitalization and relevant digital technologies for the benefit
of NEMA Members. Digital technologies under the scope of this Council include, but are not limited to, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, edge computing, virtual and augmented reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G. The Council serves
as a platform for NEMA Members to work together to advance shared interests regarding other digital technologies.
The Council advances the awareness, understanding, and adoption of digitalization and digital technologies by:
- Educating and informing NEMA Member companies on relevant digital technologies and trends;
- Developing and implementing an advocacy campaign for regulations and legislation that are favorable to NEMA Members; and
- Developing Standards or other technical documents addressing high priority needs as identified by the Council.
