ROSSLYN, VA.—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI/NEMA WC 27500-2015 Standard for Aerospace and Industrial Electrical Cable. Last published in 2012 by the Aerospace Technical Committee, this update corrects errors in the previous version and brings the standard in line with current state-of-the-art technologies of interest to the defense and aerospace industries, as well as other high performance applications.
This standard contains requirements for finished aerospace and industrial electrical cables; component wires are covered by other referenced standards. These cables are intended for signal and low-voltage power applications with defined environment or temperature conditions found in commercial aircraft, military aircraft, and high performance vehicles.
ANSI/NEMA WC 27500 may be purchased in hard copy for $105 on the NEMA website.
