Estey to Lead NEMA, Board Elections Held

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has elected S&C Electric President and CEO John Estey as chairman of the NEMA Board of Governors, a body that includes the executives of the world’s largest electrical manufacturers.

Estey’s election as chairman through 2007 accompanied the election of other industry leaders on the NEMA board.

ABB Wins Static Var Compensator Order from Allegheny Power
Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, a wholly-owned unit of Marathon Oil Corporation, has selected Dresser-Rand Company, a subsidiary of Dresser-Rand Group Inc., for the supply of compression equipment for the planned expansion of its Garyville, LA, refinery. 11/28/06

Intermountain Healthcare and GE Healthcare Form Alliance for Clinical Content Development
GE Healthcare, a division of General Electric Company, recently announced that it has expanded its alliance with Intermountain Healthcare to include the development of standardized terminology, clinical knowledge management technology, and clinical process content as part of their multi-year project for the development of an “enterprise clinical information system” built on GE’s Centricity® Enterprise Solution. 11/30/06

NEMA member 3M recently announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SoftMed Systems Inc., a provider of health information management software and services that improve the workflow and efficiency for health care organizations. 11/29/06
