The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) today urged President Biden and Department of Labor Secretary Walsh to proactively engage leadership of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) to jump start labor contract negotiations in advance of the current contract’s looming expiration on June 30, 2022. Failure to come to a contractual agreement would have a crippling effect on some of our nation’s most important ports and result in additional supply chain disruptions and shipping delays.
