Peter Tolsdorf is the Chief Legal, Membership, and People Officer at NEMA. He is responsible for ensuring NEMA’s legal compliance; serves as corporate secretary to the Board of Governors; oversees membership, member communications, meetings, and major NEMA events; and manages human resources. Before NEMA, Peter directed the Manufacturers’ Center for Legal Action at the National Association of Manufacturers, where he successfully challenged government regulations that harmed manufacturers and filed over 100 “friend of the court” briefs in federal and state courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Earlier in his career, he provided legal and advocacy support for a major energy trade association, served as an attorney with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and was a litigator at two major international law firms. Peter graduated from the George Washington University Law School, where he served as Notes Editor of the George Washington Law Review.
