State of Tennessee
The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Fire Prevention, has published two Notices of Rulemaking Hearing for October 18, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. The hearings will be located at the Davy Crockett Tower, 500 James Robertson Parkway, Room 1A, Nashville, TN 37243. Both hearings are open to the public and all stakeholders are invited to attend to give testimony on the proposed rulemaking.
- The first hearing will begin at 9:00 AM on the proposed amendments to the rules in Chapter 0780-02-16 covering inspector certification standards and qualifications. The complete notice and proposed amendments can be reviewed HERE.
- The second hearing will begin at 1:00 PM on the proposed amendments to the rules in Chapter 0780-02-23 covering one and two family dwellings and townhouses. The proposed amendments include adoption of the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), with state amendments and the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), with state amendments. The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Fire Prevention, has also published rule changes to Chapter 0780-02-01-.03 covering the approval of electrical products. This pending rule change is expected to go into effect on September 18, 2019. Details of the rule change filing can be reviewed HERE.
