The final meeting of the North Carolina Electrical Ad Hoc Committee was held on September 3, 2014 at the Department of Insurance, Office of State Fire Marshal in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The Committee assembled their final report and presented it to the Standing Electrical Committee.  The Standing Electrical Committee approved the final report and will proceed to submit a petition for rulemaking to the Building Code Council during the September 9, 2014 meeting to be held at 9:00 AM at the NCSU McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The petition for rulemaking will include a recommendation to adopt the 2014 National Electrical Code with committee proposed amendments.

The Building Code Council will vote either to deny or grant the petition. The Building Code Council will give no further consideration to the petition, if denied.  If the petition is granted, a public hearing on the petition will take place during the December 9, 2014 meeting of the Building Code Council.  The written public comment period will expire on January 13, 2015.  The final adoption meeting will take place on or after the Building Code Council Meeting to be held on March 10, 2015.
