3 November Washington


State of Washington

The State of Washington is currently considering the adoption of the 2015 International Building, Fire, Residential and Mechanical Codes, the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Washington State Energy Code.  (Please note that the National Electrical Code is adopted by a separate State agency, Labor & Industry, and is not a part of this code adoption process.)

The State Building Code Council has scheduled the following meetings for November:

November 12, 2015; 1500 Jefferson Building, Olympia, WA: 

  • Building Fire, & Plumbing Committee Meeting:  9 a.m. to Noon
  • Mechanical Ventilation & Energy Committee Meeting:  1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

November 13, 2015; Shoreline City Hall, Shoreline, WA: 

  • State Building Code Council Meeting & Work Session:  10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

November 20, 2015; 1500 Jefferson Building, Olympia, WA:

  • State Building Code Council Meeting & Work Session:  10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All meetings are available on WebEx or by conference call.  WebEx and conference call instructions and meeting agendas are available on the Washington State Building Code Council website.

The above-mentioned codes are anticipated to be effective in Washington on July 1, 2016.
