29 May Pennsylvania

State of Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code Review and Advisory Council met on May 20, 2015 at the Labor and Industry Building in Harrisburg, PA. The council is charged with making recommendations to the governor, the General Assembly and the Department of Labor & Industry regarding proposed changes to Act 45, the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act.

The Council has voted not to accept the changes in the 2015 I-Codes and also not accept the referenced 2014 Electrical Code NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC). With over 1900 Code changes, the council voted to accept only 16 items in the 2015 ICC group of Codes which serves as a Model Code for the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC).

The Council's recommendations will keep the foundation of the UCC based on the 2009 I-Codes and the 2008 NEC for the next three years.
