23 June Michigan

State of Michigan

The State of Michigan Department of LARA, Bureau of Construction Codes adopted the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) with an effective date of June 18, 2015. This code adoption affects commercial & three and larger multi-family structures in the state. However, there are several Michigan specific amendments and they are as follows.

The State of Michigan should be applauded for their commitment to Fire & Electrical safety for all citizens in the state. This adoption will ensure that all buildings accept for (one & two family dwellings) in the state will have the most current electrical safety codes available in today's built environment.
