The Commonwealth of Virginia is in the final regulations phase for the 2015 Virginia Codes update cycle. Five workgroups have been assembled to review the 2015 I-Codes, 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC), and proposed amendments submitted by the public. The schedule of workgroup meetings is outlined below. Please be aware that the schedule may change and meetings may be added or deleted as needed, depending on the number of changes submitted. All meetings begin at 9:30 AM and will be held at the Virginia Housing Center at 4224 Cox Road in Glen Allen, Virginia.

  • Workgroup 1 covers the administrative provisions of the VCC, VMC, VRC, and SPFC.  This includes VADR/ADTAC (amusement rides), VCS/BCAAC (certification requirements), IBSR (modular buildings), and MHSR (manufactured housing). Workgroup 2 covers the technical provisions of the VCC, VMC, VRC, and SFPC (IBC, IFC, IEBC, IPMC, and other model codes).   Workgroup 1 & 2 will meet on March 14, June 13 and August 23.
  • Workgroup 3 covers the residential provisions of the VCC, including the trade and energy provisions of the IRC. Workgroup 4 covers the technical trade provisions of the VCC, including the IPC, IMC, IFGC, and NEC.  Workgroup 3 & 4 will meet on April 11, June 13, and August 23. 
  • The Fire Code Edit Workgroup will meet separately on April 25, May 31, June 22, and July 19.  A fifth date is tentatively scheduled for August 16, if needed.
