On August 10, 2016, the Connecticut Codes and Standards Committee voted to accept the recommendations for acceptance of the Proposed 2016 State Building Codes and the 2016 State Fire Safety Code. This will send the two documents to the Legislative Regulatory Review and Public Safety and Security Committee for final acceptance and promulgation.  

Anticipated Date for adoption is October 1, 2016.

The 2016 CT Building Code will be based on the 2012 I-Codes and the 2014 NEC.

The 2016 CT Fire Safety Code is based on the 2012 IFC and the 2012 NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
