The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) represents nearly 350 electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers that make safe, reliable, and efficient products and systems. Our combined industries account for 360,000 American jobs in more than 7,000 facilities covering every state. Our industry produces $106 billion shipments of electrical equipment and medical imaging technologies per year with $36 billion exports.
NEMA provides a forum for the development of technical standards that are in the best interests of the industry and users, advocacy of industry policies on legislative and regulatory matters, and collection, analysis, and dissemination of industry data. In addition to its headquarters in Rosslyn, Virginia, NEMA also has offices in Beijing and Mexico City.
NEMA is a thought-leading association of large, medium, and small companies that make safe, reliable, and efficient electrical and medical imaging products and systems.
Through NEMA the electrical and medical imaging industries work together to expand markets and reduce costs by developing consensus-based technical Standards; advocating for industry policy positions at all levels of government; engaging in direct consumer education; and collecting, analyzing, and disseminating actionable industry information and forecasts.
NEMA does it to improve quality of life of customers by supporting our Members in their efforts to provide electrical and medical imaging technologies that: keep people and property safe; deliver reliable electricity to power a modern economy and energy services for developing countries; manage energy use while improving the comfort, productivity, and sustainability of our homes, businesses, and infrastructure; and serve patients by enabling early and accurate diagnosis of disease and injury.
