NEMA’s High Performance Buildings Council (HPBC) has been established to incorporate NEMA energy-efficient and high-occupant-productivity products into the building design process, perform internal assessments of member products and services that are applicable to High Performance Buildings (HPB), and create a matrix of products and systems that fit into other rating systems.
Overall Goals
The HPBC’s most important goals are to create and identify business opportunities for NEMA members and offer solutions to challenges raised by energy-efficiency objectives, working in three major areas: Government Relations, Codes & Standards, and Marketing.
Focus
Grow and diversify membership in order to increase market impact and to support an expanding HPB program
Driving HPB legislative and policy initiatives in Congress, state and local governments, the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and many others
Increasing sales for members (i.e. measures of increased sales due to legislation, tax credits, marketing, etc…) in North America and around the world.
