ROSSLYN, Va.—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published NEMA TS 4-2016 Hardware Standards for Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) with NTCIP Requirements, a standard for the transportation industry that provides users with safer, dependable, functional, and easily maintained equipment.
"NEMA TS 4-2016 now addresses full-color content to capitalize on currently available capabilities. It also harmonizes requirements with other industry standards, such as Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)," according to NEMA DMS Technical Committee Co-chairs, Mike Weinberg and Jason Morrison, Daktronics, Inc.
In addition, NEMA TS 4-2016 modifies font specifications to more clearly harmonize with updated MUTCD criteria for display in a high-resolution device. For more information on MUTCD: https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov.
