Motors shipments during the third quarter of 2013, as measured by NEMA’s Motors Shipments Index, rebounded from a decrease during the previous quarter by registering an increase of 4.7 percent. The index grew by 20 percent on a year-over-year basis.
While shipments of fractional and integral HP motors showed growth in terms of inflation-adjusted dollar values, fractional HP motors were the leading segment rising by 34 percent (y/y) compared to 2 percent for integral HP motors.
