Oregon Begins Enforcement of 2008 NEC®
On April 1, 2008, the State of Oregon began enforcement of the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code, based on the 2008 National Electrical Code® (NEC), with State amendments. 05/05/08

Washington State Closes Proposal Period
The Electrical Section of the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) opened a window for proposals for changes to the 2009 Edition of the State Electrical Rules on January 1, 2008 and held it open for three months, closing the comment period on March 31. 05/05/08

North Dakota Adopts the 2008 National Electrical Code
Effective April 1, 2008 North Dakota adopted the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC). In addition to some existing amendments to the 2005 NEC, the State of North Dakota added two new amendments to the 2008 NEC. 05/05/08

South Dakota Adoption of the 2008 National Electrical Code Meeting Resistance
The South Dakota Electrical Commission is under attack by the South Dakota Home Builders Association (SDHBA) to amend Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI) provisions with the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) adoption. 05/05/08

Governor Issues Emergency Order, Reverting Ohio to 2005 National Electrical Code®
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland signed emergency order, effective March 31, rescinding the 2008 National Electrical Code® (NEC). Gov. Strickland signed the order in response to home-builder concerns over nominal Code compliance costs. 05/05/08

MG 1 Condensed Information Guide for General Purpose Industrial AC Small and Medium Squirrel-Cage Induction Motor Standards and General Specification for Consultants, Industrial and Municipal: NEMA Premium® Efficiency Electric Motors (600 Volts or Less) have been updated to mirror the updated contents of the most recent MG 1 edition. 25/04/08


Traficon Video Detection System Installed in 20 Tunnels Along Turkey’s Black Sea Coast
The Turkish freeway management authority, KGM, is currently building a new 350 km long four-lane road from Espiye to Sarp Batumi along the coast of the Black Sea. On that road stretch, over 20 tunnels with a total length of 28 km will be equipped with Traficon’s video detection system. 28/04/08
