Agfa HealthCare signs European PACS agreement with Spanish private radiology group CETIR
Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announced that it has signed an agreement with the Spanish private radiology group CETIR Grup Mèdic (CGM), one of Spain’s leading private radiology providers based in Barcelona, to install its IMPAX™ PACS solution (Picture Archiving and Communications System). 25/03/08

Energizer Grants Audiovox Licensing Rights
Energizer Holdings, Inc. announced that its subsidiary Eveready Battery Company, Inc., owner of the Energizer brand, has entered into a trademark licensing agreement with Audiovox Corporation to market and distribute Energizer-branded products rechargeable power packs and other power related accessories throughout Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and much of South America. 21/03/08

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published ANSI/NEMA PB 1.1-2007 General Instructions for Proper Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of Panelboards Rated 600 Volts or Less, and ANSI/NEMA PB 2.1-2007 General Instructions for Proper Handling, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of Deadfront Distribution Switchboards Rated 600 Volts or Less. Both were developed by the Panelboard and Distribution Board Product Group of the LVDE Section. 21/03/08

Hearings on California CO Bill Expected in April
NEMA is championing legislation (S.B. 1386) introduced by California State Senator Alan Lowenthal to require the installation of carbon monoxide (CO) devices in dwelling units in the State of California. Working through lobbyists in the state, NEMA is forming a coalition of support that includes professional firefighters, senior citizens’ advocacy groups, public health professionals, electrical workers, and air quality advocates. The California Senate Committee on Transportation and Housing, chaired by Senator Lowenthal, has scheduled a hearing on S.B. 1386 for April 1, and the Committee on Governmental Organization has scheduled a hearing on the bill for April 8, 2008. The NEMA Board of Governors approved its leadership role in building a Smart Grid in the United States on March 13. “There is no more important initiative for electrical manufacturers than helping our nation develop a more energy efficient, more reliable electrical grid,” said Evan R.
