Siemens To Construct New Long-Distance HVDC Transmission Link in India
Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD) and consortium partner Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) have been awarded a contract by the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, New Delhi, to construct a 780 kilometer (485 mile) high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission route between the provinces of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. 03/20/07

VIHA Signs $11 Million Agreement with GE Healthcare
GE Healthcare (GE) and the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) have signed an eight-year, $11 million agreement through which VIHA will purchase 48 ultrasound systems and collaborate with GE to research and develop new healthcare technologies, Health Minister George Abbott announced earlier this month. 03/19/07
