• Nexans to Supply Cables for High-voltage Direct Current Transmission Link
  Nexans has concluded an agreement with the Norwegian national transmission system operator to manufacture the cables for the deep-water section of NorNed, a high-voltage direct current transmission link connecting the power grids of Norway and the Netherlands. 3/10/05
• ABB Receives $22 Million Substation Order in Qatar
  ABB said it has won an order worth $22 million from the state-run utility Kahramaa to supply equipment and commission three turnkey substations along a new 132-kilometer transmission line being built from Ras Laffan to Dukhan. 3/8/05
• Johnson Controls Installs Wireless Utility and Building Management System at Chicago Hospital
  Johnson Controls, Inc., is deploying the InnerWireless broadband distribution system and Metasys building management system at the new University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. 3/7/05
• U.S. DoD Military Health System to Implement 3M Coding and Compliance Software Worldwide
  3M Health information systems division has announced that the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System, one of the nation's largest health care providers, has awarded a multimillion dollar contract to 3M for ongoing licensing and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of 3M coding, compliance, and data analysis software. 3/4/05
• GE Energy, Calpine To Build 775-Megawatt Power Plant in Southern California
  Calpine Corporation and the GE Energy business of General Electric Company have selected Calpine's Inland Empire Energy Center in Southern California for the North American launch of GE's most advanced gas turbine technology, the H System. 3/1/05
• Siemens to Help Cleveland Clinic Reduce Energy, Water, and Sewer Costs
  Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., will help the Cleveland Clinic Foundation to reduce its energy, water, and sewer costs through the design and construction of a central heating and cooling plant expansion, in conjunction with numerous campus-wide energy conservation improvements to existing systems and facilities. 2/28/05

• Kodak Completes Acquisition of OREX Radiography, Ltd.
  Eastman Kodak Company announced the completion of its acquisition of OREX Computed Radiography Ltd., a provider of compact, robust computed radiography systems that enable medical practitioners to acquire patient x-ray images digitally. 3/9/05
• Johnson Controls Completes Sale of its Engine Electronics Business
  Johnson Controls, Inc. has announced that it completed the previously announced sale of its engine electronics business to Valeo. 3/2/05
• Eaton to Purchase Brazilian Powertrain Manufacturer Pigozzi S.A.
  Eaton Corporation has reached agreement to purchase Pigozzi S.A. Engrenagens e Transmissoes, an agricultural powertrain business located in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. 2/28/05

  Agfa-Gevaert’s board has nominated Agfa’s chief executive officer, Ludo Verhoeven, to succeed him as chairman of the board. 3/11/05

• NEMA Revises Guidelines for Metallic and Nonmetallic Cable
  NEMA has released two revised wire and cable standards: RV 1-2004, Revision 1, Application and Installation Guidelines for Armored Cable and Metal-Clad Cable, and RV 2-2005, Application and Installation Guidelines for Nonmetallic-Sheathed Cable and Underground Feeder and Branch Circuit Cable. 3/7/05
