The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Daktronics Inc. announced the agreement to upgrade several athletic venues on the campus of UAB with integrated scoring and video display systems. Blazer fans entering Bartow Arena, Young Memorial Field, and the new on-campus softball complex will soon be greeted by displays designed, manufactured, and installed by Daktronics.
“The new boards will definitely enhance our fans’ game day experience,” said UAB Athletic Director Brian Mackin. “I think our student athletes will take a lot of pride in the enhancements of our facilities and I know our coaches will do the same. We want to put an emphasis on improving our athletic venues and this project is a major step in the right direction.”
Some of the upgrades include:
-
Several new displays at Bartow Arena, with LED ring displays installed above and below the video screens
-
LED courtside scorer’s tables
-
A 14x20 foot LED video display at Young Memorial Field
-
A 14x17 foot video display at the new on-campus softball complex, along with a scoreboard, sponsor panels, and identification displays
“All of us at Daktronics are extremely excited to be a partner in UAB’s pursuit to be included with the finest facilities in the country,” said Glen Marts, Daktronics regional sales representative. “These incredible upgrades will undoubtedly provide all associated with UAB athletics the best game day environment and rival the best in college athletics.” Related News & Media:
