Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has announced that Thomas Moran has been elected senior vice president and secretary while Craig Reed has been elected senior vice president, supply chain management. Moran succeeds Earl R. Franklin, who retired as senior vice president and secretary.

Moran joins Eaton from The Dow Chemical Company, where he has served since 2002 as senior managing counsel and assistant corporate secretary.

“Tom’s background and unique qualifications make him a valuable addition to the Eaton team,” said Mark M. McGuire, executive vice president and general counsel. “We are pleased to bring on board an attorney and corporate secretary with Tom’s depth and breadth of experience.”

Moran will assume Franklin’s responsibilities, which include overseeing Eaton’s governance initiatives and maintaining the company’s liaison with the exchanges on which Eaton’s shares are listed. In addition, Moran will manage the corporate and securities function of the law department, along with the office of the secretary.

Reed, who will be responsible for global sourcing and supply chain management, will report to Richard D. Holder, executive vice president, Eaton Business System. Reed joins Eaton from MeadWestvaco’s Consumer Solutions Group, where he served as vice president, Global Sourcing. Prior to that, he held supply chain management positions of increasing responsibility with Delta Air Lines, Deere & Co., BMW Manufacturing, and Honda of America Manufacturing.

"Craig’s extensive experience and knowledge in strategic sourcing and supplier management will be a valuable asset to the supply chain management function," said Holder. “We’re pleased to have him join our team.”
