Johnson Controls, Inc., has earned the H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator's Award for its Solutions Navigator facility assessment and planning tool. The 8th Annual CoreNet Global Innovator's Awards recognize the industry's most innovative practices in corporate real estate.
Johnson Controls won the award in the "innovations by service providers" category. Solutions Navigator is a specially designed "game-board" assessment tool that provides a structured, interactive process for facility owners, real estate managers, and other key stakeholders to quickly assess and prioritize common facility related needs and practices.
"Solutions Navigator is a decision support tool that can help companies get ahead of the curve in their real estate planning and be strategic in their approach. It's fun and informative, and like nothing else out there," said Richard Kadzis, director of special programs for CoreNet Global. The navigation sessions, which are facilitated by certified Johnson Controls consultants, help organizations address a wide range of challenges, from the design of new facilities, to the improvement of existing infrastructure or the development of a facilities strategic plan. "Research shows that organizations, and individuals within an organization, have very different perspectives on the relative importance of facility-related needs, as well as the priorities for improvement. The Solutions Navigator helps organizations establish goals, define solutions, and build consensus in a rapid and objective manner," said Clay Nesler, vice president of innovation services and creator of the Solutions Navigator. Over the past two years, the tool has been used by more than 1,000 people representing hundreds of organizations around the world. The data collected from these sessions allows clients to benchmark their facilities and operations across departments, sites, or other organizations within their industry. Related News & Media:
