Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has acquired the principal assets of one of its suppliers, Pringle Electrical Manufacturing Company, a Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, manufacturer of bolted contact switches and other specialty switches.

Pringle's sales during the last year were $6 million, with one third of these to Eaton. The acquisition of Pringle Electrical's line of bolted contact switches will secure the supply of an important component used in a variety of Eaton's switchgear products.

Pringle engineered and built the first bolted contact switch, now a standard in high-current switching applications. Custom-built for heavy-duty applications, bolted contact switches are most often used for rectifier disconnects, crane and electrified rail isolation, battery disconnects, uninterruptible power systems, and similar applications.
