Magnet Wire


The NEMA Magnet Wire Section Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee, facilitated by NEMA Government Relations, serves as the advocacy arm of Magnet Wire Section member companies on EHS issues.

Goals:

  • Inform and advise NEMA Magnet Wire Section companies about existing and impending environmental, health, and safety policies, laws, and regulations that affect the industry
  • Coordinate and provide leadership for section actions necessary to respond to federal, state and global EHS initiatives
  • Be the voice of the magnet wire industry before various federal, state, and international legislative and regulatory bodies
  • Represent the industrys concerns before standards-setting and non-governmental bodies addressing EHS issues of real or potential concern to magnet wire producers
  • Proactively frame the crucial role magnet wire plays in empowering lives, magnet wires considerable end-of-life value as a recyclable, and industry efforts to minimize environmental impacts of production

Strategies:

  • Track and respond to existing and new regulatory developments by evaluating EHS initiatives with respect to their specific impact on magnet wire production, actively participating in rulemaking activities, and developing industry consensus positions, comments or white papers as necessary
  • Assist magnet wire member companies with understanding new and/or existing regulations by sharing best practices and exchanging cost-effective strategies for maintaining compliance with all relevant environmental, health & safety laws at magnet wire facilities
  • Represent member companies interests before governmental and non-governmental entities
