NEMA's Magnet Wire Committee, part of the Environment, Health and Safety Council, informs and advises
Magnet Wire Section member companies about existing and impending government environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies, laws, and regulations that affect member companies.
Committee goals are to:
- Inform and advise the Magnet Wire (MW) section member companies about existing and impending government environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies, laws and regulations that affect the MW industry.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for Section actions with respect to EHS matters in dealing with federal, state and international governments.
- Represent and be the “voice” of the MW industry before the various federal, state, and international agencies.
- Similarly represent the MW industry concerns before all standards making and non government bodies that are addressing EHS issues of real or potential concern to the MW industry.
Strategies:
- Engage in an active interaction with federal, state and international governmental rule-making bodies to ensure that laws and regulations reflect industry concerns.
- Assume an active role on EHS matters before all standards making and non government bodies.
- Through an active NEMA program, define and pursue all industry EHS interests and positions on all pertinent documents affecting MW products.
These strategies are executed by:
- Monitoring all activities impacting the industry, to identify key trends and issues.
- Identifying the rule-making schedule and the issues to be addressed and formulate a consensus position with all interested parties, associations and industries.
- Ensuring NEMA company representatives participate in all public dialog charged with evaluating and recommending changes that affect MW products and production facilities.
- Issuing timely and technically supportable industry views on key issues.
