Corporations, firms, and individuals actively engaged in the manufacture in the United States, Canada or Mexico, for sale in the U.S. open market, of any electrical product within the product scope of one or more product sections of the association are eligible for membership under the terms and conditions described in the NEMA Bylaws.

A company is eligible for membership if it engineers, produces in whole or in part, or effects some substantial physical changes to an electrical product for sale in the U.S. open market and included in the association’s product scope description. Application for membership must be made in writing and must specify at least one product section of the association for which applicant claims eligibility. Upon approval of the membership application by the NEMA Board of Governors, the new member affiliates with the product section(s) specified on the application and may affiliate with other sections for which it claims eligibility in accordance with the NEMA Bylaws.

Companies that do not manufacture in the United States, Mexico, or Canada, may be admitted to membership by the Board of Governors under such rules and regulations as the Board may, from time to time, determine.

Regular Membership Fee
All members pay a base membership fee of $3,000 per year, in addition to a section-specific fee for service, which is calculated on a formula based on annual product sales.

Small Company Membership Fee
A company with product sales of less than $10 million dollars qualifies for the progressive Small Company Membership Fee. The base membership fee for the first year will be reduced to $500, $1,500 in the second year, and in the third year the company pays the regular membership base fee of $3,000. The company pays the membership fee plus a section-specific fee.

Financial Sales Report
Membership application is considered completed with the return of FS Report Net Sales Domestic Customers forms. Any membership application returned without this form cannot be processed until the FS forms are received. The FS form can be accessed at http://login.nema.org/sales.

Please list at least one manufacturing plant or Design/Engineer Facility in North America where you produce products that qualify your company for membership as described.*

This person is the most senior level contact between NEMA and the company. This person may also be the Section Voting Representative. Among other things, this person will receive communications from the NEMA Board of Governors, the NEMA president, and the president’s office, and will receive the NEMA dues billing. There is to be only one association member voting representative per company.

This position is for the individual who will participate at the section level and has voting rights for the company. This individual will be responsible for representing the company’s business interests in various NEMA forums. For each section affiliation, a member has one voting representative and that same individual may be the voting representative for multiple sections. If different individuals participate in different sections as a voting representative, please attach a separate sheet with name, contact information, and the section name.

This position is for an individual who will participate at the section level and serve as the voting representative should the section level voting representative choose not to vote or otherwise be unavailable. For each section affiliation, the same individual may be the alternate representative for multiple sections.
