Webmaster

 

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of webmaster. This position reports to the Manager of Information Systems and provides technical support for NEMA’s websites. The incumbent will perform website development, maintenance, and project management.

 

Qualified candidate should have a degree in an information systems field or equivalent IT certifications or experience. It is preferred that candidate have at least one year of web-related work experience. Candidate should posses excellent communication skills, have a willingness to take on responsibilities, strong problem-solving skills, and should work well with other staff.

 

The webmaster position will work full time as a salaried employee.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Communications department in implementing NEMA’s web strategy, including updates to the NEMA websites.
  • Provide backup support for web content management.
  • Provide maintenance and development for NEMA’s members-only websites.
  • Develop & support NEMA/Web business. This includes developing websites for industry related interests, managing client requests, and selling new website services.
  • Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.

Required IT Skills:

 

  • Strong HTML, Javascript, & CSS experience
  • Ability to create a website from start to finish (from domain name registration to site deployment)
  • Strong familiarity with a web IDE such as Dreamweaver or SharePoint Designer.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.

Desired IT Skills:

 

  • Programming experience, such as ASP.NET or PHP
  • Website graphics design and layout experience
  • Experience with a Web Management System (WCM).
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with Wordpress

Director, Government Relations

The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), a Division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is looking for a Director, Government Relations. The position focuses on federal legislative medical device, technology, and related issues. Involves working closely with association member executives to evaluate implications of legislative/regulatory initiatives, develop industry positions, and advocacy of positions. Activities include interacting with legislative/regulatory staff and elected officials; preparing position papers & comments, etc.; representing NEMA at hearings and consultations, industry events, and conferences; and developing and implementing strategies to achieve member objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years federal legislative experience
  • Experience with healthcare legislative and regulatory issues
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills - ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing group activities and working in a team environment

Director, State and Federal Programs - MITA


The National Electrical Manufacturers Association in Rosslyn, Virginia is seeking a federal and state lobbyist to join a growing Association committed to innovation. Responsibilities include building relationships in Congress and the Administration and educating policy officials and staff on the value of medical imaging. This individual would also be responsible for all aspects of the MITA state lobbying effort including representing MITA before relevant state legislative and regulatory committees. In addition, this individual must be adept at balancing priorities and finding solutions amongst a diverse membership group.

Activities include interacting with Congressional, Administration and State policy makers and staff; communicating with member company executives and staff; representing MITA at hearings and consultations, industry events, and conferences; preparing position papers & comments and developing and implementing strategies to achieve member objectives.

Field Representative for Trade Association


Vacancy Announcement:

 

NEMA, the Association of Electrical and Medical Imaging Manufacturers, is seeking a Field Representative for the West Coast region of the U.S. (the states in the Northwest and Southwest Section of the IAEI). The individual will serve as an advocate for NEMA’s member companies and will work with industry, public and private groups, and individuals to provide assistance and feedback on a wide variety of issues facing the electrical industry including existing and proposed laws, regulations and ordinances, as well as probable future legislative and regulatory trends.

 

This position requires working independently from an office set-up in the employee’s residence.  A comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code as well as an understanding of the codes and standards development process of organizations such as NFPA, UL and the ICC is necessary.  A background with the IAEI is desirable.  Knowledge of the regulatory environment in the western states is a plus.

 

Excellent writing, presentation and communications skills are necessary.  Diplomacy and tact are important as well as an ability to understand the subtleties of issues.  The ability to budget resources (funding, time, etc.) is critical.  Personal computer use, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc., is required.  The individual must reside in one of the states in the region. Extensive travel (up to 50%) can be expected.

MITA Reimbursement Policy Director

Position responsibilities

 

Lead the MITA Reimbursement Committee

  • Surveil coverage and payment policy environment; anticipate changes and consequences for diagnostic imaging industry
  • Analyze all coverage and payment reimbursement policies that affect imaging; recommend and develop strategies to address payment issues
  • Manage the MITA Reimbursement Committee: set goals and strategy, maintain momentum on initiatives and serve as committee members’ liaison to MITA, manage teleconferences and record-keeping
  • Coordinate with other MITA functions, e.g., research, section and other committees on payment policy projects; work with MITA committees and sections to coordinate positions and activities
  • Build strong, productive relationships with policymakers in the federal government and other stakeholders
  • Liaise between MITA and other like-minded imaging organizations (e.g., AMIC, ACR, ACC) on reimbursement policy issues
  • Facilitate interactions among and between members and MITA; build consensus on policy positions and strategies
  • Create agendas, minutes, reports, communications, position statements, press releases, white papers
  • Work with consultants on event coordination (e.g., fly-ins)

Coordinate Commenting Process

  • Coordinate the commenting process across the regulatory agenda, including CMS, FDA, USPSTF, etc.)
  • Work with MITA staff and outside organizations to finalize and submit comments to government agencies

Experience and qualifications:

  • Must have BA/BS; advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in federal coverage and reimbursement policy (Medicare); experience with private payers and Medicaid a plus
  • Strong analytical skills required: an understanding of evidentiary standards and ability to interpret clinical and economic data related to imaging
  • Conversant in broad range of issues facing the diagnostic imaging industry
  • Excellent communication skills: written and oral
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong time management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects and meet challenging deadlines working independently
  • Management experience a plus; ability to lead volunteer teams and maintain progress toward aggressive organizational goals

JOB SUMMARY: The Industry Economist will grow and maintain a portfolio of industry forecasting projects as well as contribute to the overall analytical function of the market intelligence team of NEMA, a major manufacturing trade association.  

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage new and ongoing quantitative projects and prepare and present findings to member clients
  • Undertake econometric modeling and economic research of the electroindustry and develop and maintain forecast models for electroindustry product sectors
  • Assist in production of monthly economic and industry outlook using vendor supplied national economic model
  • Contribute analytical content to the association’s magazine, blog, market intelligence portal  and other channels as assigned                                                        
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of economic and electroindustry indicators
  • Provide economic/market data information to NEMA Members

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Quantitative orientation with expertise in econometrics and in specialized software applications such as EViews

Technical Program Manager Position

 

Department: Technical Services

 

The NEMA Technical Services Department has an immediate opening for a Technical Program Manager (Grade 7) to provide professional support to technical committees and projects of the electrical manufacturing industries.  The Manager has the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of standardization in the electrical industries. Specifically, working with manufacturing companies brings this position to the forefront of innovation and product application. Representing industry on national committees and engaging in discussions across industries allow the Manager to increase both personal expertise and NEMA’s influence. Assignments may include:

  1. Develop and maintain manufacturing and performance standards and technical documents.  Coordinate technical and administrative activities and assignments.  Organize and staff meetings, producing meeting agenda, minutes and reports.  Project/program management. Liaison with other industry organizations. Position routinely works with technical experts in member and non-member companies, SDO’s and others.     
  2. Develop and maintain manufacturing and performance standards related to the assigned American National Standards (ANSI) accredited standards committees.
  3. Collaborate  US/Canada/Mexico North American standards harmonization and coordination committees
  4. Initiate, monitor, and ensure active progress on international standards projects assigned to technical committees and related US Technical Advisory Groups.  
  5. Other technical activities such as pursuing opportunities with emerging technologies, representing the Association at industry meetings, liaison with other stakeholder organizations, serving on interdepartmental project teams, etc.  
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Position requires:  An engineering or technical degree or equivalent technical background, 3-5 years of successful project management experience, excellent oral and written communications skills, and very good computer skills.  Standards development and volunteer committee experience a plus.
