The State of Michigan has adopted the 2008 NEC with an effective date of December 2, 2009. This adoption will enhance electrical safety with the expansion of arc-fault protection in residences, added applications of GFCI and protection for children by the way of tamper resistant receptacles.

The State of Michigan is serving as a leader in the advancement of electrical safety to ensure their citizens have the same protection from electrical hazards as the rest of the country.
