Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, announced today at the White House Energy Datapalooza event, that it has teamed with Pepco Holdings to implement Green Button Connect My Data capabilities for Pepco’s commercial and industrial customers in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. As the first deployment of Connect My Data for commercial users, this project is opening up the Green Button program to a subset of energy-intensive customers representing millions of dollars in potential energy savings. Part of the larger Green Button initiative launched in 2012, this program is helping Green Button to reach more than 57 million households and businesses by year’s end.

Building on an over 10-year relationship between Pepco and Schneider Electric to make energy usage and cost information more accessible to customers, the program utilizes Schneider Electric’s Energy Profiler Online™ (EPO) solution, a leading cloud-based energy management information and demand response management system, to provide customers with easy access to energy data. Integrated with Pepco’s advanced metering infrastructure, EPO provides the utility interface for the Connect My Data service. This enables Pepco customers to leverage the Green Button standard to allow third-party service providers to directly access to their energy data.

The EPO solution makes it easy for utilities to leverage web-based tools to deliver value-added services to their commercial and industrial customers.
Pepco commercial and industrial customers can use the service every day to monitor usage, track demand and emissions, and gain a better understanding of how their facilities use energy. Integration with the Green Button standard through Connect My Data, provides greater energy savings potential, by offering the ability to connect with other third party applications that can provide greater analysis and recommendations around a facility’s energy usage.
