ThinkGlobal Inc. is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Exporter of the Year Awards. The ThinkGlobal Exporter of the Year Awards are given to one U.S. company in each of the 16 different industry categories in Commercial News USA. ThinkGlobal is the publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine that reaches more than a quarter-million readers in 178 countries worldwide in print, and 23,000 visitors per month online. Awards are given annually at trade event featuring officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Winners in each industry will be chosen based on the total number of documented export deals, total percentage increase in sales, exports as percentage of total sales, the company's commitment to exporting, the company's commitment to customer service, and the company's innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, the nominee must be a company that is exporting from the United States. Companies may nominate themselves for the award.
Gregory Sandler, publisher of Commercial News USA, said that the awards recognize American companies who are exporting. American companies that want to grow and to expand beyond their current trading areas need to consider opportunities outside of the U.S., said Sandler. World markets offer real potential for U.S. exporters, and the Exporter of the Year winners are indicative of the opportunity presented by selling worldwide.
The deadline for nominations is Sept. 30, 2011.
