This March marks the official launch of
Imaging Forward, a campaign to highlight innovation in the medical imaging industry over the past two decades. At the helm of this campaign is the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), the medical division of NEMA. The medical imaging community has long defended the value of imaging against harmful policy threats and Medicare reimbursement cuts. It is time to change the conversation.
In just 20 years, medical imaging has taken a quantum leap forward to transform modern healthcare. Today, medical imaging technology once only imagined is now the standard of care, enabling more targeted disease detection, diagnosis and treatment, and eliminating the need for exploratory surgeries. For example, low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) can find tiny tumors the size of a grain of rice, which has been shown to reduce lung cancer deaths by 20 percent compared to chest x-ray alone.
New life-saving technologies are the direct result of medical imaging manufacturers’ investment in innovation to enable better care for the next generation.
MITA is launching
Imaging Forward on both traditional and social media and will share compelling content to demonstrate medical imaging’s role in advancing health care. To stay up to date with the latest on the campaign, follow us on twitter
