EYE Lighting International announced it supplied the lighting for scenes in the new Paramount Pictures film The Fighter.
“I know it’s hard to believe that Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, and Amy Adams could look any better than they ordinarily do, but we think our lighting makes these movie stars look even better,” said Rob Freitag, VP marketing for EYE. “The tone of The Fighter is designed to be rather grey and subdued, but a few scenes called for brighter lighting with rich colors. That’s what our metal halide lamps are good at.”
Earlier in 2010, EYE Lighting CMH lamps and Urban Act™ fixtures were specified for many of the venues in the Winter Olympics.
“High definition TV cameras, like professional HD movie cameras, need a bright light source as well as a high color rendering index (CRI). We were delighted to be specified for the Winter Games, and EYE lamps and fixtures performed superbly in Vancouver,” said Tom Salpietra, president and COO of EYE Lighting.
For The Fighter, EYE provided a 400 watt MH lamp that is often used to upgrade HPS luminaires, and a 250 Watt CMH lamp that can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications.
