announced they were chosen by the U.S. Air Force Academy to design, manufacture, and install a new light-emitting diode (LED) video system for aquatics. Two new video displays will be mounted on the walls of the Natatorium in Cadet Gym. Together, the displays will be capable of showing live video and instant replays, as well as statistics, animations, and advertisements.
In addition to the display equipment, Daktronics will be providing timing products including Relay Take Off Platforms (RTOPs), OmniSport®
timing system, and touchpads. The RTOPs detect the split second a swimmer loses contact with the platform during a relay exchange, and the timing console provides 1/1000th of a second accuracy.
“We’re excited and pleased to continue working with the U.S. Air Force Academy,” Daktronics Sales Representative Scott Dieck said. “We have provided equipment for the Academy in past years, and this new installation will help improve the experience at aquatics events for fans, students, and coaches alike.”
The Academy also has Daktronics equipment at the Cadet Ice Arena, home to Air Force hockey, as well as at their lacrosse, football, and basketball facilities.
