12/2/2013 12:00 PM

The NEMA Arc-Welding Section (1EW) recently provided a grant to the REC Foundation in support of its VEX Robotic Competition. In a show of support, the VEX team from Percy Julian Middle School in Oak Park, Illinois, attended the Arc Welding Section meeting in Chicago to demonstrate its robot and explain the latest VEX Competition challenge.

Pictured are team members (from left) Christian Barrett, James Kennedy, Emet Sensat, and Henry Wolff. They were accompanied by coaches Tim Walsh and Jason Morrell.

The 1EW grant will fund two new teams and support a team for the national VEX Competition.
